LO Rotarian David Wolf will be our “gourmet chef” along with “sous chefs” Sara, Kyle & Joanna.  Jim will be pouring his finest wines and regaling our guests with great Oregon wine stories. 504. TRAVELING LOBSTER SHOW FOR 20

Wasn’t dinner great? You can recreate the event for up to 20 people in your home or special location with this offering! Lobster Chef Wade Byers and his Rotary chef crew will bring the lobster, wine, desserts and all the fixings to your home and prepare a lobster barbecue for your one-of-a-kind party. The dinner includes lobster, clams, corn, coleslaw, rolls, egg, cheesecake, and bottles of red and white wine). Party must be located within 30 miles from Lakewood Center for the Arts and date must be arranged at least 30 days ahead of mutually agreed upon weekend date. Note: lobsters must be cooked outside, on grates that will be supplied by Rotarians. It will be a memorable event! Of course, the time frame must be during lobster season, so this offering must be used before the end of September 2024 and can take place weather permitting. 505. SPECIAL APPEAL – PADDLE RAISE EMPOWERING YOUNG WOMEN
Empower young women through education, economic development, and fighting human trafficking

The Need: Young women are the most vulnerable sector in many ways including low income, early pregnancy, and human trafficking. Lake Oswego Rotary develops and supports projects that impact young women’s prospects for a better future.

One such project is MAIA, a school for indigenous Mayan women. In 2022, LO Rotary developed a program that prepares high school graduates for university education and employment in the formal economy.

After two years, 61% of MAIA graduates (called Girl Pioneers) are working in the formal economy, 61% have been admitted to university, and 0% are married. These remarkable results were possible in part due to donations made by people like you at the 2022 PADDLE RAISE.

LO Rotary is committed to continue empowering more young women around the world through such programs. This year we will tackle an additional important impediment in the young women’s path; human trafficking.

We ask your support and commitment to enable us in empowering young women in Asia, Latin America, Africa, and here at home.
